Vive 18 continues its impact with youth at Walter J Baird in LSSD today. Prevention is about knowing social norms and that even though it FEELS like everyone is using MOST youth have NEVER vaped (68%), drank alcohol (48%), or used THC (83%). DrugFree WilCo is determined to partner with our Youth Prevention Coalitions in our schools, guardians, and community members to see these social norms increase.
How can you help? TALK. Small conversations have a BIG impact. Make expectations clear. Know where youth are going and who they are with. Partner with other community members and family members about substance use. Join our coalition that meets virtually each month. Check out our website for many resources on prevention. #TogetherWeCan #PreventionWorks #drugfreewilco Vive18

DrugFree WilCo is ecstatic to have our guest speaker, Jake White, from Vive 18 visit all Wilson County High Schools this week. Today we are at Lebanon HS kicking off the morning with 10th graders learning about shortcuts and skillsets. Drugs, alcohol, nicotine, THC…these are all shortcuts to battle mental health behaviors or even a shortcut to fun! Skillsets takes real work, but makes you better and releases real dopamine in the brain! This lesson is one for our entire Wilson County community, regardless of age. Prevention works Wilson County!

Love getting to see our YPC's pull out all the stops! Thank you to GHHS for sharing how we make prevention fun and teaching your fellow peers. Seeing the youth make a prom pledge to stay sober is the best part 🙂 Thank you to everyone for being a part of this. #PreventionMatters

Yesterday we walked. We walked for awareness. We walked to remember. We walked for those who we have lost to fentanyl and for those still struggling. Thank you to Monika Stafford for putting this together in honor of her daughter and In honor of fentanyl awareness day. Thank you to our wonderful Lebanon Police Department for making this a safe event and escorting us through town. To Will Taylor and TN 5N2 Regional Overdose Prevention Specialists for providing Naloxone and support to our community. We could not do this without the appreciation, support, and understanding of our community. #PreventionWorks #DrugfreeWilco
